The Preaching Elder Initiative is a 4-stage process to equip church elders to craft and deliver sermons to a congregation, especially for the sake of sharing the preaching burden with lead ministers.

Stage 1 is our Preaching Elder book, available in e2’s shop elsewhere on this site. Stage 2 is comprised of the videos both below and on the example sermons page. Stages 3 and 4 involve much more intense training and we would love to discuss those steps with you if you feel so called and compelled by the Spirit. Send us a note on the contact page.

Videos here are listed in the order of their accompanying chapters in the book. Note that we have skipped Chapter 1 as the print version of considering one’s calling thoroughly addressed the topic. Rather than give an extra 20-minute video on a topic already thoroughly discussed, Dr Johnson’s video will walk you through the process of crafting a message, incorporating insights from the entire book, based on one of the book’s two appendices.
